Novice Dog Pt 1 Report

24th March 2008

Judge: Sue Sims
Ring Steward: Glenis Charles
60 entered, 36 worked, 7 did training rounds

My thanks to Sheilagh and committee for the invitation to judge at their first Ticket show. We were treated to a hot lunch in the new building which gave us a welcome warm up time. My steward and I were each given an Easter egg at the end of judging which was a nice touch. The celebratory cake for their first ticket show was just like home made. The weather was cold, windy and sunny at times, just remember it could have been worse! Thanks to Glenis for her faultless stewarding giving confidence to the handlers is so vital. The standard was on the whole good today the ones in the line up standing out.

1st Mrs Margaret Thompson - Akamai High Spirits BC lost 2 Krieger and Pat worked quietly and calmly producing an almost faultless round, and repeated their high standard in the run off, well done. Good luck in your future shows.

2nd Mrs Sylvia Yeo - Crofthandy Summer Wine WS lost 2 Sylvia and Compi had clear HF but need to sort out their presents and finishes if these had been clear you would have won easily. Sylvia amazed me by removing her coat to work when it was so cold.

3rd Mrs Sheila Earp - Eclipse of the Heart WS lost 2¼ Tyler only just behind the leaders on another day the positions could well be reversed.

4th Mrs Margaret Harrall - Marmik Midsummer Phantom BC lost 2 ¾ Ozzie worked well losing a little on each exercise for backward sits and ocps the main heelwork being strong.

5th Mrs Lin White - Rockin Heart And Soul WS lost 3¾ left turns and inverting in heel free the main problems from Chezzie. Worked 7th

6th Mrs Pip Colledge - Jenakir Halloween Harry G.RET. lost 4 This super big Goldie worked with attitude clear recall, left turns not finished off were his weakness.
