Championship C Bitch Report

24th March 2008

Judge: Mavis Mills

Well done to the Border Collie Club on your first ticket show. I know your work force is small, so it must have been hard work, again well done.
Every judge must have a good team, as was the case for me. Many thanks to Roy, not only for the day but also the preparation. Likewise Shelagh who was very efficient as scribe and Julie (it was your first time on ticket scoreboard, I hope you enjoyed it, an excellent job - well done). Thanks Bronwyn for general support and being decoy steward, and finally to Helen Munks - many thanks for staying behind to be scent decoy also.

1st and KC Obedience Certificate. Mrs Kim Innes & Ob Ch Barlingo Go Balistic. B/C Lost 9.75 marks. HF 6.75, Ret. 2, S/A 0.5, D/C F, Sct. 0.5.
Kim and Yaz came out on top after a run off with Dot and Zyma. Well done Kim it was a pleasure to judge and award your passport to Crufts 2009. Yaz is a powerful bitch and you work as a super team with a great bond.

2nd and KC reserve certificate. Mrs Dot Watts & Ob Ch Zygdan Zyma. W/S Lost 9.75 marks. HF 6.5, Ret. 2, S/A 0.75, D/C 0.25, Sct. 0.25.
Sorry Dot but I can't award two firsts. You both put on your usual stunning heelwork round. Zyma really enjoyed the retrieve article, and landed behind the back marker. Still who cares, you were probably still on a high after Crufts, and who can blame you.

3rd Mrs R Jefferson & Ob Ch Kingslodge Blackleg. B/C Lost 10.5 marks. HF 5.25, Ret. 2.25, S/A 2, D/C F, Sct. 1.
Ros and Rebb worked a high quality round, with little between the top three. Good clean handling enabled Rebb to show her natural balance and drive. Best heelwork of the day.

4th Mrs P Hill & Llynellen Spring Special. W/S Lost 13 marks. HF 10.25, Ret. 1.5, S/A 0.5, D/C F, Scent 0.75. Pauline and Posh have started the season well. Brilliant set exercises, but some crabbing in normal pace. Heelwork costly, but your day will come.

5th Mr R Bland & Choystean Corona Australis. W/S Lost 13 marks. HF 10.5, Ret. 1.25, S/A 0.5, D/C F, Sct. 0.75.
Roy and Alice work well together. Nice tight heelwork. Not long before another ticket win.

6th Mr A Gresty & Amarissta Dynasty. W/S Lost 13.5 marks. HF 10.75, Ret. 0.5, S/A 1, D/C 0.5, Sct. 0.75.
Well done Alan and Alfie gaining 6th. Very good set exercises and you show real enjoyment working your dog. Nice to see.
