A Dog Pt 1 Report

24th March 2008

Judge: Maureen Allcock
Ring Steward: John Hughes
Scoreboard: Charles Allcock

Thanks to Sheilagh and committee for the invitation to judge at your first Championship Show. We were well looked after on a very cold day. Thanks to my team of helpers; John as ring steward and Charles on the scoreboard, also not forgetting the hard working stay stewards.

1st Mrs R Valentine with Tamerrye Causin Kaos. BC Losing 6.5 A good round from this team with the dog competing in his first 'A' class - what a way to start! Have confidence in him Roz and Good Luck for the future. Congratulations.

2nd Mrs J Hopper with Heathermead Harmony At Holtby. XB Losing 7 Bits and pieces in HW cost most marks today but other exercises were excellent including a full point scent and we did not get many of those today! Good Luck at future shows.

3rd Mrs J A Judge with Fermanagh Jed. BC Losing 7 A bit of leaning on and a few wides in HW took the marks today, however, it was a good round and could win on another day. Good Luck.

4th Mrs J Bramhall with Akamai High Society. BC Losing 7 A lovely round of HW with just a bit of tucking-in costing most marks. It all went pear-shaped in scent with a loss of 2.5 points which took them down the line up. Declined the run-off as 'Ticket' running order beckoned. Better luck next time.

5th Mrs J Kent with Tyefold Blue Boy. WSD Losing 7.5 A few wides on HW proved costly today, tidy this up and you will be at the other end of the line up. Good Luck.

6th Mrs E Wellings with Trimor Breffni Warrior. WSD Losing 8 Joint leader before a scent disaster, losing 3.5 points on this exercise. What bad luck after working a super round. Unfortunately all this added up to push this very good team to the wrong end of the line up. Better luck next time.

Finally, this was a very mixed class with some dogs ready to progress and others needing a little help. Why oh why don't handlers help these dogs when they are obviously struggling? We had a fair few of training rounds and only one dog got anything positive out of it, IMO. Thanks to competitors for your entries and enjoy your dogs.
