Dogs - Irene Kiff
My first appointment to give CCs in the breed. All exhibits were entire, there were a few less than perfect bites and rear movement was disappointing in quite a few but I had many quality dogs which made my final decisions difficult but very enjoyable.
Minor Puppy Dog (6, 4a)
1. Scott-Webb's NOBITE NOTHING VENTURED. 8 months profusely coated pup who has the essentials to make a quality adult. He has a lovely head and endearing expression and good body proportions but he is very up at the rear at present. His movement was OK for his age. ResBPD.
2. Alcorn & Venn's MIRAJE DECISION MADE. 6 months baby who was very immature and unsettled. He needs time and more training.
Puppy Dog (11, 1a)
1. Tranter's BEESTING JUST MAKE BELIEVE. Not a flashy young man but he moved smoothly and freely with reach and drive. His head still needs to mature but he has a good length of neck into well laid shoulders and balanced body proportions. BPD and ResBPIS.
2. Wilkinson's ALTRICIA MY SPOT ON. Very close up to 1st and a little more mature but rather unsettled and on his toes which proved to be the deciding factor as his movement wasn't as smooth. He has a lovely head and expression with dark brown eyes and is well made all through.
3. Troman's TONKORY RARE OCCASION FOR LYNTROM.
Junior Dog (15, 4a)
1. Sapsford's GLENFOUND SIMPLY MAGICAL. 15 months boy with a lovely masculine head and alert expression. He has a good length of neck, well laid shoulders, level topline and well let down rear. A very free mover which won him the class.
2. Kerr, Angier & Gay's PAWTAILS SUNKIST CELT FOR TRIPLEWITCH (Imp Aus). Very nice dog who had all the winner's qualities but was shorter coupled and less mature in bodily development. His movement was controlled but not as ground covering as 1st.
3. Tranter's B. JUST MAKE BELIEVE
Yearling Dog (12, 2a)
1. Clarke & Wheatley's AUST CH. DANARI DE BEERS. This was a very strong class and this 22 months dog took my eye as soon as he entered the ring. He has a beautiful head and expression, a good length of neck and super shoulder angulation. His chest is deep, his topline level and his rear very well muscled. His movement was true coming and going and his side action was smooth and ground covering. ResCC.
2. Jones' SIANWORTH FIRECRACKER. A sable/white young man and another quality dog who moved so well. A different type to 1st but he also has a beautiful head with a very alert expression and balanced body proportions. His coat is not as mature as the winner's but appears profuse and weather resistant.
3. Scott-Webb's NOBITE UNDER SUSPICION.
Novice Dog (6, 2a)
1. Kempton's LOCHIEL MANHATTEN AT BORDERBROOK. Unplaced in the Puppy class but was more settled here and was the best mover in the class.
2. Good & Lewis' SHEMELLA RAY OF SUNSHINE. Very impressive young man from the Junior class. He is a little leggy at present and was quite unsettled on the move.
3. James' THREJAYS NEBOLAF ISDS.
Graduate Dog (6, 1a)
1. Kinton & Large's WIZINBY I AM I SAID FOR KINAWAY JW. 2 year old classically marked dog with a beautiful head and appealing expression. His overall balance and better hind movement won him this class.
2. Spencer's LITTLETHORN COLT AT TOBERMORAY. I’ve seen this dog go better but on the day he was moving closer behind than I like. Beautifully presented, he has a masculine head and good body proportions, I did like him a lot.
3. Hawker's FOXBARTON TAITTINGER JW.
Post Graduate Dog (20, 3a)
1. Prandle's WIZALAND JOKER IN THE PACK. This dog was expertly handled to show off his many qualities. He has a lovely masculine head and alert expression, adequate reach of neck into well laid shoulders and well let down rear. His movement was smooth, free and ground covering.
2. Large & Harlow's WIZALAND IN FOR A LAUGH. A plainer marked dog from the same kennel but with the same qualities as the winner. Perhaps a little unsettled on the day but his movement was very pleasing.
3. Chance's GOYTRE CHANCE TO DREAM.
Limit Dog (25, 4a)
1. Turner & Alexander's KAELEON SHOW STOPPER AT LOCHIEL. This dog really impressed me with his strong head, lovely dark eyes and super pigmentation. His neck is slightly arched and smoothly joins his well laid shoulders. His topline is firm and level, his rear is well let down and his movement is fluid and ground covering.
2. Rettie's GLENFOUND SIMPLY SO' WHAT. 5 year old mature dog with a lovely head and alert expression. He has a deep chest, level topline, muscular loin and well turned stifles. Movement was free and tireless.
3. Gregory's TONKORY JUSTICE PREVAILS JW.
Open Dog (10, 1a)
1. Entwistle's SH CH/IR CH BEESTING ORLANDO. This dog topped a class where any of the first 5 could have won but in the final run off his true rear action clinched the class. His head is so typical with a beautiful kind expression, his neck is strong and muscular and his body proportions are just about perfect. He has a level topline, profuse well presented coat and excels on the move. CC and on the Referee's decision, BIS.
2. Wilkinson's ALTRICIA LOVER BOY. Another top quality male that delighted me with his outgoing temperament and free ground covering movement. He has a masculine head with lovely dark brown eyes, a good length of neck and balanced angulation front and rear.
3. Angier's LUX/NL/GER/HUNG/ROM CH EYES OF THE WORLD EASYRIDER (Imp).
Veteran Dog (6, 2a)
1. Jones' SH CH SIANWORTH CELTIC MAGICIAN. Beautifully presented tri dog in peak condition. Lovely head and expression, strong neck and level topline. Front and rear angulation complemented each other giving a lovely smooth action on the move. Certainly quite a character!! BVD and BVIS.
2. Large, Harlow, Baylis & Woods' SH CH/AM CH BORDERFAME I AM I SAID. Another lovely exhibit but showing his age just a little. Masculine head and expression, moved well but with less enthusiasm than the winner. A worthy champion nevertheless.
3. Tasker's SH CH GOYTRE REPEAT PERFORMANCE.
Special Vintage Veteran Dog (7, 5a)
1. Ward's SH CH CARISTAN MOET CHANDON. An old favourite of mine who can still move really well. Good head, nice length of neck into well laid shoulders and well let down rear. Topline dipping slightly but still a quality dog.
2. Lavington's LYDEARDLEA ROCKET MAN OVER SANDMONT. This dog moved soundly but without the reach and drive of the winner. Plainer marked he has a nice head and expression and was enjoying his day out.
Special Working Dog (1, 1a)
