SHOW REPORT

Championship Show - Sunday 1st February 2009

Bitches - Karen Dalglish

General observations are that the depth of quality in the bitches has improved considerably. In almost all of the classes I had heart-wrenching decisions to make and wished I had more red cards to give out. Some bitches were very fat, and I don't mean well covered which I could have forgiven. Due to the depth of quality these females were heavily penalized, sadly, out of coat females suffered the same fate.

Best Puppy In Show in total agreement with my co-judge was Tonkory Shimma. Reserve Best In Show in agreement with my co-judge was Altricia Blue Whisper and on the referee’s decision Best In Show was the outstanding male Sh Ch/Irish Ch Beesting Orlando.

Minor Puppy Bitch (12, 2a)
1. Tromans' LYNTROM ALL THAT JAZZ. Lovely b/w of good breed type, balanced head, typical eye and expression, to be critical would like a tad more underjaw. Good front, feet and rear quarters, balanced body, liked her size and shape, moved out well with good forward reach and drive from behind.
2. Simmons/Strachan's MIRAJE IT CAN'T BE. Another nice b/w that stood four square on good limbs, longer on the leg than 1, she is of good shape and overall balance, liked her head and expression. Very sound on the move.
3. Gregory's TONKORY TICKLE MY FANCY.

Puppy Bitch (13, 3a)
1. Gregory's TONKORY SHIMMA. A most beautifully balanced b/w. Ultra feminine head with the best of expressions. Excellent reach of neck flowing on to back of good length, sloping croup and long well carried tail. Excels in front quarters and good rear angulations. Elegant and graceful on the move covering the ground with ease. Presented in good clean condition and very well handled. BPIS
2. Porter's LOCHEIL MOMENTS LIKE THIS FOR CROXLEA. So unlucky to meet 1 today, this little girl has similar attributes and see she is by the same sire. Lovely head, not quite the neck of 1, however she is of good shape and has good rear angulations, moved out well in all directions.
3. Winup/Paipala's BEESTING JUST EN JOY AT ROGANSROCK.

Junior Bitch (25, 2a)
1. Wiltshire's CALEYKIZ RHYTHM IN BLACK. Darkly marked b/w which only shows off her excellent construction. Liked the balance of head, eye and expression on this one, good reach of neck on to good top line, quality bone, good feet. Like her shape and angulations, very sound and positive on the move. Well handled and presented.
2. Tasker's GOYTRE REPEAT THE STORY. A sound and typy female, good head but ears set a little low, liked her overall shape, depth of chest and croup, very sound on the move. In good order all through.
3. Robinson's SHELTYSHAM SHADY STREAM.

Yearling Bitch (15, 3a)
1. Turner/Alexander's LOCHEIL FUNNY FACE JW. Caught my eye the minute she entered the ring. Very pretty girl with excellent head proportions, in particular liked her eye and expression, well set ears, reach of neck on to body with correct height to length ratio, good rear angulations, well set tail, free and fluent movement. Presentation excellent with whites gleaming, considered her long and hard for the RCC just feel she has a little more developing to do.
2. Ward/Kernahan's CHARNEY SPICA JW. Close up to 1, balanced head, just preferred the little extra reach of neck on 1. Liked this ones body shape, and rear angulations. Very impressive side gait, sound and honest.
3. Wiltshire's CALEYKIZ THE LAST TWIST JW.

Novice Bitch (7, 2a)
1. Robinson's SHELTYSHAM SHADY STREAM. Came from the strong junior class, very pretty head with well-set eye and ears. Good reach of neck on to body of good shape, very sound and positive on the move in particular liked her side gait.
2. Cook's WIZINBY ROCK WIT CHU. Another nice one, feminine and well balanced all through, good front angulations, would like a little more rear angulation, moved out okay.
3. Kempton's NICE OF YOU TO COMEBYE ON AND OFF AT BORDERBOOK (Imp)

Graduate Bitch (10, 2a)
1. Blackshaw/Warwick's LOCHEIL MISS INDEPENDENT AT RUFFS. A really nice bl/w, liked her head proportions and high set ears, good reach of neck onto body of good length, would like a little more turn of stifle, and moved a little close behind, otherwise sound and honest. Well handled.
2. Kerr's MELMARA LET IT BE BORDERCLAN. B/w feminine head, ears set a little low but mobile in their use, liked her reach of neck, body shape, front and rear angulations, moved positively round the ring, no exaggerations here at all, handler got the best out of her, presentation excellent.
3. Austin/Large's BORDERTIME ANDANTE AT HYSTEPS.

Post Graduate Bitch (19, 4a)
1. Tunnicliff's LITTLETHORN PORSCHE JW. Feminine, fit and so well balanced, lovely head, gentle expression, good reach of neck, good length of body, well angulated front and rear, short tidy hocks, powered round the ring, sound and honest bitch of quality, sympathetically handled and so well presented.
2. Rettie's SIANWORTH MYSTIC STAR OVER GLENFOUND. Smaller type b/w of quality, lovely head and expression, tipped ears, liked her bone and feet, good rear angulations, powered round the ring, well handled and presented, shame to meet 1 today.
3. Blackshaw/Warwick's LOCHEIL MISS INDEPENDENT AT RUFFS.

Limit Bitch (24, 3a)
1. Wilkinson's ALTRICIA BLUE WHISPER. A truly beautiful bl/w, I watched her as she entered the ring and my eye kept being drawn to her, she was as nice to go over as she was in stance. Good head and eye colour, good neck and shoulders, really liked her length of body and rear angulations, fall off of croup and well-set tail carried low on the move. Her movement was economical, covering the ground with ease, in particular liked her side gait, the more she moved the better she got. Well handled and groomed to an inch of her life. CC, RBIS.
2. Broadhurst's THISTLEMIST WHICH IS WITCH. Another one of quality and a little stronger made than 1, not quite the upper arm, but overall body shape and rear angulations she excelled in, liked her attitude as she moved positively and soundly round the ring, well handled.
3. Higgins' TONKORY LIGHTNING STRIKES JAYDEAN JW.

Open Bitch (21, 4a)
1. Porter's LOCHEIL REALLY AND TRULY AT CROXLEA. A beautifully made b/w with the most feminine head, kind eye and expression, high set ears, moderate bone, good angulations front and rear, liked her outline in stance. To be critical would like a little more body length to balance the leg length; however, this does not detract from her quality. Moved out well, in-between coats costing her high honours, could not deny her the RCC.
2. Turner's LITTLETHORN SAPPHIRE, another nice typy and very honest bitch that hides nothing in stance, ear carriage a little lower set than 1. Liked her angulations front and rear, also her body shape, croup and tidy feet. Powered round the ring, well handled and presented.
3. Hales' LACEWAY BEE WITCHING

Veteran Bitch (14, 6a)
1. Wiltshire's Sh Ch LORACIAN RHYTHM 'N' BLUES. Bl/w with lovely head and eye of correct shape and colour, erect ears, good length of neck onto good back, liked her front, feet and rear angulations, good for size. Excels on the move, beautifully presented. Reserve Veteran in Show.
2. Ravenscroft's MIRAJE PLAY MISTY FOR RAVENSCOL JW. One of my long time favourites, so very pretty and elegant, good shape, like her eye and expression, stood well, moved very soundly fore and aft.
3. Gowing's WIZALAND STAGE WHISPER WITH PIKARA

Special Vintage Veteran Bitch (4, 2a)
Two beautiful grand old bitches in this class both a credit to their owners headed by
1. Sutherland's DEANSGROVE NEW EDITION OF KAIONA. B/w mottled with the sweetest of heads, dark expressive eye, ears almost erect, lovely body shape, however she still looks good in stance and could still power round the ring.
2. Walford's HALLADOWN PLAY MISTY FOR ME. Lovely blue merle, slightly bigger than 1, good head patterns and correct eyes for colour, still retains a good body shape and angulations, just moved a little stiff legged behind. Both these veterans seemed to enjoy their day out and they were a pleasure to judge.

Special Working Bitch (4, 1a)
1. Moss' DORVALE WEDDED BLISS. Placed in the strong Limit class, nice head, well placed expressive eye, semi erect ears, good front feet and feet. Body of good shape, moved with good front and rear extensions. Very sound and very honest.
2. Tiller's FOXBARTON LADY IN WAITING JW. Nice tri in good order, liked her head and expression heightened by erect ears, stands four square on strong limbs, moved out well.
3. Tiller's FOXBARTON THAT'S JAZZ CDex UDex.
