Breed Council Open Day ~ May 2nd 2009
The annual Breed Council Open Day was once again a resounding success. The Breed Clubs, the PBHF and several other hard working individuals came together to provide a 20/20 DNA clinic, BAER hearing testing, eye testing and a Judging Assessment. There were also KC Good Citizens Bronze award tests, a Companion Dog Show (open to all breeds), a raffle and prizes galore. Eye specialist Professor Peter Bedford gave a talk in the lunch break on glaucoma, which has recently raised its ugly head within our beloved breed.
We were as ever very fortunate with the weather - the sun shone and although the wind was more than a trifle cutting later in the day, it couldn't stop everyone's enjoyment. All in all, the day was a brilliant team effort and a credit to Border Collie folk!
