Limited Obedience Show ~ October 5th 2008
Beginner & Class A Critiques

Judge - Les Thorpe. Steward - Bea

My thanks to Sheilagh Hyde & the committee for the kind invitation to judge at this show and a huge thank you to Bea for being such an excellent steward. We were looked after very well and the lunch we were provided with was fantastic. The weather was not kind at the start but after lunch we had sunshine. Also Sheilagh: a BIG THANK YOU for the use of your KHYAM.

Beginners (9 entries, 7 worked)
1st. Miss A Duesbury, DODGIN AMBER GAMBLER, WS losing 3½.
A great performance was put in by this team. What a lovely round to watch, slightly wide A/t in both heelwork rounds, also a crooked sit but despite that, a very worthy win. All the best of luck in the future. Congratulations. Well done.

2nd. Mr Savage, KIZZY OF SAUVAGE, BC losing 5½.
Another nice round for this team. Remember that tight lead!! H/F was much better with much more attention given. Clear present and clear finish in recall and retrieve. Well done and good luck in the future.

3rd. Mrs Charleswoth, BOWSHELLA WALNUT OF GINNYLANDS, Golden Retriever losing 8.
Another nice round from this team, lots of exuberance from this happy dog but some inattention causing dips in heelwork rounds. Also a little wide sometimes especially W/A/T. Lovely recall and slightly off centre present in retrieve but overall well done and good luck for the future.

4th. Mrs C Archer, ANNIES SONG, WS losing 8¾.
Well done to this team on obtaining this position. Quite a lot of inattention throughout H/W rounds but recall was very good and retrieve just crooked present and finish. Overall well done and good luck for the future.

5th. Mrs J Chance, GOYTRE CHANCE TO DREAM, BC losing 11½.
Well done to this team but again lots of inattention with wide heelwork and turns. But the best retrieve in this class. I think his favourite part of the test. Well done and good luck for the future.

6th. Mrs Joan Cattell, DORVALE CUSTOM MAID, BC losing 19.
Again, what can i say, not the best day for this team. But you came in and enjoyed your dog, what more can we ask? Well done to you, keep up the practice and you will get there. Just persevere and good luck for the future.

Thanks to all of you for your entry. Hope you all had an enjoyable day.

Class A (12 entries, 2 worked, 1 trained)
1st. Mrs J Duesbury, DYNAMO JOE, WS losing 2½.
Well done to this team. A well deserved 1st. Just slight inattention during heelwork causing loss of position. A-recall fast and accurate. Crooked finish on retrieve and scent but a very nice round. Congratulations and good luck for the future.

2nd. Mrs Dodd, Shepwood Morning Shadow, BC losing 5½
Another good result from this team gaining 2nd place. Not much wrong with this round, wide about turn and crooked sit during heelwork. Recall was not the best today. Retrieve was good with crooked present and unfortunately a few errors in scent, overall a very nice round. Well done and good luck for the future.

Thanks for your entry, shame a few more did not work but conditions were not the best for those who have worked and also show wet muddy dogs in breed classes, so perhaps next time?
