A Dog Pt 2 Report

24th March 2008

Judge: Richard Kebble
Ring Steward: Annegret
Scoreboard: Gill

Many thanks to Sheilagh Hyde for the invitation to judge and congratulations to her and her team on a very successful debut Championship Show. Thanks to Annegret for giving up her day to steward for me, also for her efficiency and company, and of course to Gill for keeping the scores in order. The hot lunch was very welcome.

A mixed class with some very good teams on show. We had a large number of dogs failing to sit in heelwork which is quite interesting, often one or two but never seen this many before in one class.

1st Mr C Parkin & Lakeland Viking Warrior GSD. A very impressive round from this team. The turns were crisp and accurate as was the straight line work. In fact the only marks deducted were for crooked sits in HW and retrieve. Many congratulations and good luck for the future with your boy.

2nd Mr J Fairclough & Rusnsol Black Opal WS. A good round from John and his young son of Russ. Not much wrong with this work, should go on to do well in these experienced hands. Well done.

3rd Mr A Puckett & Majacabus Billy Bombastic WS. A slight tendency to lose position coming out of the turns caused most of the points today, but a good round nonetheless. Well done.

That's three men in the first three places, things are looking up for equality!!

4th Mrs J Barstow & Tambuzi Rocketman BC. After a very good HW round an expensive scent moved this pair down the line but they hung in there. Well done Jane.

5th Mrs R Miller & Forever Magic Perfic Partna WS. Rita with support team in tow managed to control both herself and her dog to gain this place. Well done.

6th Mrs J Taylor & Candlewind Force Nine Gale BC. Excellent heelwork from this team, anticipation in recall pushing them down the line. Well done.

Thanks to Sheila and the stay team, you were probably pleased to get out of the cold at the end of a very long day. Thanks to all competitors for their entries and good humoured company today.
